Biography of H. Dan Adams

Naturalized Hoosier

My education includes a BA from Yale University and a MD from Harvard Medical School. After six years of residency training, I proudly served two years active duty in the U.S. Navy as well as six years in the U.S. Navy Reserves. My career as a heart surgeon began in Missoula, Montana in 1975 and continued with my move to Evansville in 1982. I retired from surgery in 1999 due to a trauma to my right leg. In 2002, I received an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

After being fortunate enough to help so many patients with their problems over a span of forty years, in 2007, I felt that it was time for me to give something back to the Evansville community. Therefore, I chose to run for public office in the hopes that I could listen to the citizens and contribute in some way to further bring about change and betterment in the community that I so dearly love. For the past four years, I have faithfully served on the Area Plan Committee, protecting neighborhood desires, fought the misguided plan for closure of two very busy mid-city fire stations, and sponsored a resolution to stop spending $17 million on soft ball fields. I have been your independent voice on Evansville's City Council. Currently, I am a member of The Association of Government Accountability (AGA).
